Who We Are
Workshop tools by Moving Walls LTD.
A Swiss-owned family enterprise
Moving Walls was founded in 2007 as a public limited company by brothers Marcel and Patrick Frick and has since evolved into a specialized provider of innovative workshop tools for agile working & learning. In January 2022, sister Denise Frick joined the company, taking over the company's executive leadership in April 2023.
Our origins lie in a close and innovative collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), whereas Moving Walls custom-built collaboration tools to power the Forum's Annual Meetings in Davos starting in 2007.
The design of the tools was informed by the experience of professional facilitators from across the globe practicing the craft since the mid-70s, some of whom later on co-founded The Value Web. The WEF still works with Moving Walls today and uses them at their interactive sessions during their Annual and Regional Meetings. In the early years, the company's activities consisted practically only of this exclusive cooperation. Today, Moving Walls has grown into a successful business serving customers across the globe including some of the world's most renowned companies and has a loyal following of passionate users.
Designed by renowned Swiss designer Jörg Boner, our versatile workshop tools fuel new processes of idea generation and an interactive work atmosphere.

Thinking Big, Drawing with Ease, Sharing Effectively
Break free from the constraints of traditional collaboration methods. Our intuitive tools make it effortless to think big, express ideas visually, and share them with others in real-time.

Moving Walls Team Patrick, Marcel, Denise
Moving Walls originated not in the furniture industry, but from the necessity to improve collaboration among global leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Inspired by Matt and Gail Taylor's work and their 1961 rate of change model, which highlighted the exponential pace of change, Patrick Frick discussed the 'Complexity Gap' in his TEDx talk in Munich on June 7th, 2010. The Taylors' insights inspired the creation of better collaboration tools.
Patrick Frick emphasized that the last few decades have seen unprecedented changes, with trends like CO2 emissions, species extinction, water use, population growth, and technological innovations accelerating since around 1950. This rapid change has outpaced our incremental ability to respond, creating a widening 'Complexity Gap'. Patrick Frick argued that while technology might help, ultimately, human ingenuity is crucial to addressing this complexity. The key is to improve collaboration among people. This understanding was the driving force behind the creation of Moving Walls, aimed at facilitating better teamwork and problem-solving.
Join us at Moving Walls and discover a whole new world of vibrant collaboration. Let's give life to ideas and work better together!

Collaboration Brings Us Closer
Insights from Denise Frick at Moving Walls Ltd.
Denise Frick has always valued the power of collaboration, a lesson she learned during her 17 years as a professional figure skater. Transitioning to synchronized skating, Denise worked closely with 19 other athletes, all striving toward the same goals - winning national championships and achieving top-five rankings at world competitions. Spending countless hours together, training and competing internationally, Denise learned how collaboration can unite people, strengthen bonds, and create extraordinary outcomes.
In her experience, the key to a successful team is not just the end goal, but the journey itself - the way a group of individuals with diverse strengths can come together as one. The clarity of a shared vision, the trust between teammates, and the mutual respect they built on and off the ice formed the foundation of their success. Their work was driven by passion and commitment, but it was the connections they forged that made the process truly meaningful.
These lessons have shaped Denise’s approach at Moving Walls Ltd., where she continues to prioritize collaboration in her daily work. She believes that when a team shares a common vision, everyone is motivated to contribute their unique perspectives, leading to more creative ideas and stronger results. By aligning with teammates on a shared goal, the work becomes more engaging, fulfilling, and impactful.
Vision and Mission
At the heart of the family-run firm are the ideological approaches of architect, facilitator and thinker Matt Taylor and architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The interface of the physical environment, organizational practices as well as tools are crucial for solving complex, systemic problems.
This approach is the starting point for developing the perfect interface between people, space, and work processes. The vision of developing a multifunctional tool for flexible room design and agile work in groups remained the north star for the co-founders Marcel and Patrick Frick.
Marcel, a trained carpenter, and Patrick, facilitator and co-founder of The Value Web together with a passionate group of professional end-users, then developed the first prototypes of the Moving Wall more than 15 years ago. The result is a modular professional tool for designing flexible spaces and promoting teamwork.
Our vision behind Moving Walls is simple: to equip organizations with the tools they need to drive meaningful change in the world while enhancing how people work and engage with each other. Designed to facilitate design thinking and foster seamless collaboration, our tools are your gateway to unlocking innovation and productivity.
Swiss design by Jörg Boner
Moving Walls products were designed and developed in close collaboration with internationally renowned designer Jörg Boner. The straightforwardness as well as the reduced aesthetics of the designs correspond to the brand's claim to the multifunctional workshop tools.
Today, Jörg Boner is one of the most important Swiss designers of the “middle generation”. He was awarded the Grand Prix Design by the Swiss Confederation in 2011 for his continuous contribution to Swiss design and his commitment as a designer and lecturer.
“I believe in the horizontal surfaces becoming smaller and the vertical surfaces becoming larger. The horizontal area is the private area. It's kind of like land ownership. The vertical surface, on the other hand, is public. You can form a plenum around it.
— Jörg Boner, Designer

Swiss Made Workshop Tools
We attach particular importance to the highest quality in the manufacture of our products and rely on the label “MADE IN SWITZERLAND” out of conviction.
Moving Walls products are all developed in Switzerland and with a few exceptions, all workshop tools are also produced in Switzerland. Sustainability and the responsible use of resources are an integral part of our corporate values. Therefore, we use only the best raw materials and semi-finished products for the production of all components, and we guarantee the best processing.
Thanks to the uncompromising standards of our production partners, we also achieve a very high quality of workmanship, durability, and longevity in our products. Our latest version of our Moving Wall is literally built to last forever. It is a conscious counter-statement to our unhealthy pattern of over-consumption and throw-away culture combined with an iconic design that gains in value over time.
From the very beginning, we decided to outsource the production to professionals. To ensure compliance with our values and quality standards, we work only with innovative and leading producers. Most of them are family-run companies too. This collaboration allows us to access cutting-edge manufacturing technologies and easily scale production according to customer demand.
